Abstracts

Welcome to the 5th International Family Integrated Care Conference. 
Monday 21st November and Tuesday 22nd November 2022, Online.  

The abstract portal for the International Family Integrated Care Conference 2022 is now open for submissions. We are inviting everyone involved in FICare to submit an abstract and present their work to delegates. Participants are invited to submit abstracts of original work for oral and e-poster presentations during the virtual meeting. Presentation Type: Abstracts may be submitted for oral or e-poster presentation. The Scientific Committee will decide whether the abstract will be accepted for oral presentation. Every abstract will be peer-reviewed by reviewers and may be selected for oral presentation (10 min presentation + 5 minute discussion) or poster presentation (3 minute presentation+ 5 minute discussion). Virtual posters will be displayed on the E-Posters tab on the conference website. Your abstract should outline your project, provide an example of best practice or simply share learning from your unit with others at the conference. All abstracts are most welcome! Abstracts must be submitted online via the CFS website only. Abstracts submitted by e-mail will not be accepted. Your abstract should contain no more than 300 words.


Submission DEADLINE: 

Midnight,  Friday 7 October 2022


Final presentation of accepted abstracts will require registration of at least one author for the conference before the abstract submission deadline. Abstracts must be received by the deadline of 7th October. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered. Successful abstracts will be announced the week commencing Monday 24th October 2022. Instructions for the preparation of presentations will be made available on the conference website at a later date.

Limitations: 

All abstracts must be submitted in English. 

Presenting authors must be registered participants. 

Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance for the abstract title to be published in the FICare conference brochure. 

The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract. 

Previously Presented/Published Policy: Abstracts that have been previously presented at another meeting may not be submitted. 

How to submit an abstract: 

Please prepare the following information prior to submission: 

• Presenting author’s contact details: 

– Full first and family name(s) 

– Email address 

– Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country 

– Phone number 

• Author and co-authors’ details 

• Preferred Presentation type: Oral or E-Poster 

Title: Ensure the title reflect the topic/message of your study generally 10 – 15 words, or less. 

Abstract text – limited to 300 words with the following headings: 

Background: What is already known about this topic, and why is your project interesting and potentially useful to others? The background should be brief and relevant 

Aim: This must be SMART – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timelimited. Exactly what is your research question/ QI aim? 

Methods: methods should be clearly written in simple language and reproducible 

Results: results can be written in text and an additional table, or figure can be added, only one table or figure can be added to the result section 

Conclusions: clearly written discussion and conclusions not overstating the outcomes 

References: could be added at the end, this will not be counted towards the total word count 

Acknowledgements and funding should be added to the abstract at the end, this will not be counted towards the word count
